Parking and registration
Details about Parking can be found here. We strongly advise that you allow at least half an hour after you arrive in Watchet for parking and registration, etc. So try to time your journey to arrive in Watchet at around 08:30am.
Once you have arrived at the event come to the event HQ on the Esplanade (the Marina) to collect your rider pack. This will contain your route cards and rider number card (which will also list the emergency phone numbers for assistance on the ride).

Rider briefing and start times
Your rider number will have your start time printed on it. As this is a manually timed event, and to comply with the terms of our insurance, it is important that riders stick to their predesignated start time and leave in the group to which they are assigned.
All riders will be called forward for a briefing at 08:50am (held at the Start on Harbour Road). This is a safety precaution and if no new information is needed to be passed on the briefing will be very short. All the information about the day is on the website and further details will be emailed to riders in the week building up to the event, after entries have closed. Riders will then depart together at 9am.
Please be sure to read our information on cut off times here.

Route arrows and Marshalls
As well as yellow route arrows positioned throughout both routes there are a number of other signs to look out for. These include distance markers, feed station notices and, for those on the long course, there are two caution signs on the decent into Dulverton. These warn of two potentially hazardous bends in the road.
Marshalls are provided for re-assurance only; they will have no authority over other road users. You are responsible for your own actions and must rely on your own vigilance and common sense.

Medical and Mechanical emergencies
In the case of a serious accident or medical emergency try to establish where you are on the route and call 999. In the case of other medical or mechanical issues, use the numbers printed on your rider number card to call for assistance.
We are not offering roadside mechanical support, but if you are unable to continue, after phoning the number on your rider number you will be recovered and taken to the feed station where a bike mechanic will do their best to get you going again (please make sure you have some money to pay for any spare parts you may need from the mechanic).

Feed stations
Feed stations are designated places for riders to stop and recharge with free food and drinks. This year there will be just one feed station location, at Wheddon Cross. There will be free toilets at the feed station; basic first aid assistance and bike mechanics will also be available.
Feed stations will be equipped with a selection of energy-rich food. Tea and coffee will also be available, as will water.

Finish
To keep things simple and the cost lower for you we will again be opting for manual timing. When you arrive at the finish please stop to allow your rider number to be collected by the marshalls, and inform them of what route you did so that your time can be logged - please tell the marshall collecting your number if you were unable to start at your correct time so the necessary calculations can be made. Riders times will then be published after the event.
