Cut off times
To offer our riders the best level of support, and to assist with logistics of coordinating our volunteers, we will be imposing two cut off points during the event.
Classic Route
- Riders will need to maintain an average speed of 7 mph by the time they reach the feed station in Wheddon Cross.
- We won't stop riders from carrying on if they arrive after this time but any rider leaving after 1:30pm will need to do so in the direction of the finish and will miss out the additional 13 mile loop.
- This measure will reduce their ride to 37 miles (with only you and a couple of lumpy bits between you and the finish and should ensure we can keep the BBQ fired up for your return to Watchet.
Long Route
- Riders will need to maintain an average speed of 10 mph by the time they reach the split, at 33.7 miles.
- Riders arriving after 12:30pm will be directed onto the shorter Classic Route where the two routes split.

Our causes
100% of all profits from the Marauder go to charitable causes; more specifically, local health and wellbeing charities and projects.
Last year we raised over £1750 and contributed to a number of fantastic projects: the outdoor gym in Watchet; to Get Set Somerset's mountain biking course; and to local children, young people and families' charity, Watchet Roots which provides projects such as subsidised swimming lessons, community growing and works closely with the local children's centres.
If you are involved in a health and wellbeing related organisation in West Somerset and would like to see if the Watchet Marauder can offer any financial support to your project then please get in touch via out contact page.
